After an intriguing final day drama last season which left fans relishing for more action, the Premier League resumes this weekend amid high expectations from billions of fans across the globe.
Defending Champions Manchester City will be seeking to defend their title in some fashion with additional firepower including Norwegian Erling Braut Halaand acquired from Borrusia Dortmund in Germany. However, the title race could be more intense this season with various teams battling for the top prize including Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and new look Tottenham Hostpurs.

NEW ACQUISITIONS
Manchester City and Liverpool are the only teams which can be termed as having been successful last season with silverware to show or but the same cannot be said of the rest in the traditional big six category. Despite winning some silverware Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have both bolstered their squads whilst releasing other players ahead of the new season.
Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus might have been the casualties of the ever ambitious Guardiola despite joining their title rivals Chelsea and Arsenal respectively. While freeing his attack line, Guardiola was creating space for his new high-end acquisitions in Erling Halaand, Kalvin Phillips and Argentine sensation Julian Alvarez who is tipped to be the next Sergio Kun Aguero. On the other side, Jurgen Klopp might have lost one of his main men in Sadio Mane, released to join German champions Bayern. Mane who was named the African Player of the year helped Liverpool secure the Carabao and the FA Cup as well as reaching the UEFA Champions League Finals in Paris. In as much as it might take time to replace the Senegalese star, the reds acquired the signature of Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez from SL Benfica for a club record fee of £85M.

London-based Chelsea FC who offloaded two main players Romelu Lukaku back to Inter Milan and Antonio Rudoger to Real Madrid have taken in palyers with vast experience into the squad including Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli and Raheem Sterling from Manchester City
13-time FA Cup winners Arsenal have been the busiest in the summer with major arrivals including Manchester City duo Gabriel Jesus a versatile foward who could be a perfect fit to Arteta’s playing style. Oleksandr Zinchenko is a good addition as well as bringing back defender William Saliba from Marsaille. However, Mikel Arteta might be a CDM away from making Arsenal a force to reckon with again in the Premier League.

After a disappointing season, Manchester United needed major revamp with the arrival of Eric Ten Hag as the new manager. United’s main target Frenkie De Jong is yet to join the club despite both clubs having reached an agreement for the dutch midfielder. The red devils have acquired the signatures of Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez from Feyernood and Ajax respectively as well as veteran playmaker Christian Eriksen from Brentford. United remain confident of securing De Jong before the end of the transfer window and their new target Benjamin Sseko from Redbull Salzburg amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo.
THE TITLE RACE
In recent years, the league title has been a case of who will blink first between Liverpool and Manchester City. This season seems to be no different as they continue to pull away from the rest in terms of squad depth and quality without mentioning the quality of football being displayed if the Community shield is anything to go by. 38 games could be a long and treacherous way to the title with Chelsea, Arsenal, Man united and Spurs all on the way, but, certainly Guardiola’s Manchester City and Klopp’s Liverpool are the front runners in the league title.
THE FIGHT FOR TOP FOUR
City and Liverpool look miles ahead of the pack but in the premier league nothing can be left to chance. Conte’s Spurs secured Champions League football at the tail end of last season at the expense of North-London rivals Arsenal who look formidable to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League. Tottenham despite bringing in Richarlison from Everton and Ivan Perisic from Inter will have to up their game to cement their place in the top four with tough competition expected from United and Arsenal who play in the Europa League this season.

PREMIER LEAGUE NEW BOYS.
Nottingham Forest are finally back in the Premier League after a 23 year absence and are looking to cement their place in the League for years to come. Bournemouth is the other team to return to the league and their manager Scott Parker is buoyed by a good squad with premier league experience including his main men Dominic Solanke, David Brooks and Junior Stanislas. Fulham who were relegated only a season ago are back with big ambitions top among them staying in the league for at least another season.
The Premier League kicks off on 5th of August with Crystal Palace hosting Arsenal at the Serlhust Park for the season opener.

As you said the battle is bigger now🥳
